Events : Towerwall and MassBay Host Another Successful Information Security Summit
Towerwall teamed up with MassBay Community College on May 29 to present the second annual Information Security Summit at MassBay’s Wellesley Hills campus from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Over 250 individuals attended the Summit where they interacted with industry experts and participated in various security panel discussions.
After a presentation on the "Anatomy of a Malware Attack" by Sophos, and the keynote by Chris Logan of Care New England Health Systems, the Summit offered a number of breakout sessions. The fully attended breakout sessions, centered on user awareness and training/social engineering, cloud and security, APTS (Advance System Threats), secure mobile applications and BYOD, risk management and compliance, and identity management.

All the profit from the Information Security Summit is donated to the MassBay IT Security program scholarship fund. This year Towerwall and MassBay presented the Information Security Summit scholarship to Tatiane Aponte, Juliet Nakamya, Scott Spieglier. All three are persuing a degree in IT Security at MassBay. Towerwall and MassBay also plan on awarding three other students the scholarship for the winter semester.
